Productivity went UP, people were happier, turnover went DOWN… so naturally we killed it. 😂 That’s what makes the whole four-day workweek debate interesting to me. If the same amount of work is getting done, the business is still hitting its goals, and employees are happier, then what exactly are we protecting with that fifth day? Because if the answer is basically “this is how we’ve always done it,” that’s not much of an argument. Now obviously, a four-day week won’t work for every business or every industry. But if the results are better and the company still says no, then maybe the issue was never productivity in the first place.
